The cropper accepts JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, WEBP, HEIC or HEIF, and AVIF when supported by your browser. Most files keep their format after export; HEIC or HEIF files are exported as JPG, while BMP and AVIF may be exported as PNG.
Cropping removes pixels outside your selection but does not intentionally lower the quality of the area you keep. Final sharpness depends on the source image and export format.
